Lasting aesthetic solutions

Have teeth stains, crookedness, gaps or something else stolen the happiness in your smile? Ceramic veneers can provide a natural-looking boost to your teeth, all while maintaining their functionality.

What are veneers?

Dental veneers are thin layers of material that are bonded to the front of teeth to improve their appearance. Veneers are custom-shaped teeth coverings, moulded to fit cleanly on one or more natural teeth to hide stains and discolouration, cover gaps or chips in the teeth, or conceal crookedness.

Our veneers are made from tooth-coloured porcelain to mimic the appearance of natural tooth enamel without compromising on functionality and form. When applied properly, veneers should look like improved versions of your natural teeth.

Who can get veneers?

Our porcelain veneers treatment is a popular option for anyone who is unhappy with the look of their teeth or their smile overall. This may be in response to particular issues, including discolouration and severe staining, crookedness and gaps, chips or fractures, or teeth that are oddly shaped and sized.

Patients can receive veneers at almost any age as an adult, but we recommend waiting until at least 18 years old. This ensures that your teeth and jaws have fully developed and veneers will not be applied to teeth that are still moving.

Veneers are not recommended for anyone with active gum disease or poor overall oral hygiene, as existing teeth may not be healthy enough to support the veneers. If you have recently undergone other dental work, or have had an injury to your mouth, you will need to wait for everything to heal before you can have veneers placed.

Our veneers process

Getting veneers starts with an analysis of whether you have enough enamel to support the porcelain shell. From there, the particular tooth or set of teeth that will have veneers placed are prepared by the dentist. Prepping teeth for veneers involves having a thin amount of enamel shaved away to provide a smooth surface for a veneer to attach to. From there, an oral impression and scan is taken and used to custom create perfect-fitting veneers.

Patients may wear temporary veneers before their final shells are ready. The ceramic veneers will be designed to suit the patient’s existing teeth, face shape and skin tone, and both the patient and dentist will test how well they suit before permanently applying them. If both sides are satisfied, the dentist applies a special bonding agent and the veneers are securely attached and adjusted for a perfect fit.

Are veneers worth it?

While focused primarily on visual restorations, veneers also provide strength to teeth weakened by gaps or damage. The key benefits of veneers include:

  • Aesthetic Boost: Veneers that use ceramic materials are designed to match natural tooth colour and resist staining. Similarly, their precise fit ensures a clean boost to your smile.
  • Durability: When correctly applied and looked after, veneers can last for up to 15 years while maintaining their effectiveness and appearance.
  • Rapid Treatment: Veneers require minimal tooth preparation and can be custom-made in a fast turnaround time, making them one of the quickest cosmetic procedures available.

While veneers unfortunately cannot be used to repair underlying damage to teeth, they can help to improve the overall appearance of your smile.
